Recently I decided that I wanted to talk about the brands and products that I use on a daily basis and believe in supporting. I do my best to live a holistic lifestyle which means that everything that I do, partake in, put energy into, support, and for lack of a better word, "consume" is either produced organically, sustainably, regeneratively, and/or done with integrity.
If you've been paying attention to your health, you may have noticed that the majority of products in stores contain toxic chemicals, fillers, artificial flavors and colors that are detrimental to vitality. Big companies that produce the majority of our everyday commodities contribute to some of the worst problems of our world... whether it be terrible working conditions and unlivable wages, polluting natural ecosystems, or straight up contributing to disease with zero accountability. Businesses and companies that actually empower, support, and take care of their employees and are mindful of our shared, natural environment need to be supported.
Voting with your dollar is the best way to get big corporations to change their shady business practices and it supports the smaller business that should be rewarded for their commitment to our health and wellness.
For example, it may be cheaper to buy skincare products from a mass produced brand that use harsh chemicals that may irritate your skin, possibly damage your nervous system, as well as harm the environment; rather than supporting a brand that ethically sources their ingredients, use sustainable practices, include adaptogenic herbs and high quality, organic ingredients, use glass instead of plastic, and overall, show their integrity in everything they do!
And why not use products that contain natural ingredients? Why take the chance of using harsh chemicals? Because it's cheaper? You're worthy of the good things!
I'll be posting about all the many kinds of products and brands I use and support on a daily basis on this platform to encourage, educate, and support those that value integrity and maintain it as their foundation while providing amazing products. From skin care products to supplements, food brands, clothing, and home/kitchen supplies, I'll be featuring what I use on a daily basis.
Any articles related to detail on nutrition will be linked out and I'll do my best to share the links related to the brands or products referenced.
To start with, I'm really impressed with a company called Moon Juice right now. They have amazing skin care products with essential oils and adaptogenic herbs like Reishi mushroom and Silver Ear mushroom, as well as amino acids from sugar beet molasses! Moon Juices' values are completely aligned with their products and the way they do business. Their values (from their website) are this:
"Self care is a revolutionary act — it’s been our mission for a decade. We believe the first and best thing you can do for the planet starts with yourself. The world needs your clarity, capacity, and vitality now.
Self care for communal care. We make the tools to help."
Their quality standards are also on point:
"...We test for bio-identity, purity, potency, microbiological content, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and more. When formulating, we work alongside scientists, herbalists, and chemists to ensure efficacy, safety, and purity."
"We formulate with ingredients that have been used for thousands of years and consciously source from their native region. We harvest organic or wildcrafted plants at the peak of their potency and extract for maximum bioavailability. The results are products that are extremely potent, supremely pure, and radically effective."
Moon Juices' supplement line is just as amazing as you might expect, I love their Brain Dust blend and I use it in my smoothies every morning. It contains Lionsmane mushroom, Ginkgo, Rhodiola, Ashwagandha, Astragalus & Maca. It's great for handling stress, support's mental stamina, alertness, concentration, and overall energy level throughout the day.
Moon Juice is also partnered with a non-profit organization called "the body: a home for love" which is a a community-based 501(c)3 shifting culture around how black women heal from sexual trauma. Through wellness, art, and storytelling, they empower survivors to reclaim their narrative and sustain the ongoing work of self‑love and restoration.
The membership is entirely donation-based meaning no matter how much you're able to donate, you receive the same benefits. Members who cannot afford a monthly membership can send an email to community@thebodyahomeforlove.org to apply for a free membership.
Imagine if the whole world or just our country operated in such a manner!
I'm grateful to be able to share the brands and products that promote a holistic lifestyle more frequently and I look forward to connecting with people who resonate and anyone who has something to share regarding a holistic lifestyle, please contact me if you'd like to contribute to the site with a blog post.
