Gold, a Native Element, crystallizes in massive forms, grains, flakes, dendritic forms, plates, nuggets, and, rarely,  in octahedral, cubic, and rhombododecahedral crystals.


The colour range includes shades of golden yellow, silver-white, orange-red, and sometimes, green and peach (i.e. Black-Hills Gold). The Oxford Dictionary reported that the occurrence of Gold was first recorded in A.D. 725.
